Ready to join?

We understand that positions in the kitchen and bathroom design industry are wide and varied, and there are many ways for designers to enter the field. Accordingly, we’ve developed a number of pathways and varying membership categories to accommodate the skills, qualifications and experience of our members.

Pathway Option A

If you’re currently undertaking a recognised course in design in a built environment discipline, and are NOT practising as a designer, you may be eligible for a student membership.

You may only hold your Student membership status for a maximum period of two years. At the commencement of the third year of membership, you will be upgraded (at relevant cost) to Associate Designer membership level.

If you have successfully attained a design qualification through an approved design course, you are invited to upgrade your membership category to Designer Membership level.

If you’re a Designer Member who meets the criteria for accreditation, you are encouraged to submit an application and upgrade your membership status to that of Accredited Designer.  This is the pinnacle of a kitchen and/or bathroom design profession, and should be the ultimate goal of those committed to their career.

Pathway Option B

If you currently work in the kitchen and bathroom industry as a designer, but do not have a formal design qualification, you will be eligible for an Associate Designer membership.

Associate Designer Members are encouraged to gain their design qualification through (a) enrolling in an approved course or (b) participating in a structured RPL program delivered by KBDi Education Partner, Designer Training Australia.

If you have successfully attained a design qualification through an RPL program, you are invited to upgrade your membership category to Designer Membership level.

If you’re a Designer Member who meets the criteria for accreditation, you are encouraged to submit an application and upgrade your membership status to that of Accredited Designer.  This is the pinnacle of a kitchen and/or bathroom design profession, and should be the ultimate goal of those committed to their career.
