The wind was a little wild but the spectacular view, fabulous food and awesome company made the Pytha Partners Convention Friday night drinks event a huge success.
With thanks to Program Partners, Austaron Surfaces, Pytha guests enjoyed a fantastic evening of food, drinks and networking on the rooftop of the Holiday Inn Old Sydney. After a long day learning about PYTHA Version 23, PYTHA users from right across the country shared their tips and tricks, industry loves and loathes and generally had a great time!
The rooftop get-together was just one part of the two day event; guests enjoyed workshops in machining, modelling and rendering, and made the most of an intensive Q and A session with the program developers (who jetted from Germany just for the occasion). Keynote speaker, Mark McCrindle enlightened the crowd about working with and selling to Generations Y and Z (thanks to the generous support of ASOFIA). Pytha Partners Australia wrapped up the convention with a fabulous dinner at Sydney’s iconic Luna Park, where long-time PYTHA users were acknowledged for their 20, 10 and five year commitments to PYTHA 3D-CAD. Guests then danced the night away to the tunes of the Steve Foxe Quintet and the stunning Emma Birdsall, with thanks to Program Partner, Biesse.
All in all it was a wonderful two days, and a great celebration of the growing PYTHA community. Learn more about PYTHA and how the Pytha Partners team can support you and your business here.
A delightful kitchen design impressed this year’s KBDi Designer Awards judging panel, and earned Victorian designer, Alexa Beer (Smarter Bathrooms & Kitchens) a trio of awards.
A number of structural restrictions proved no challenge for Alexa, who completely transformed an existing dreary kitchen in to a light-filled design delight. The homely kitchen is designed for story-telling: the clever exposure of the 70-year old brickwork adds a hint of history, while the ethically sourced slab of Marri timber adorning the island bench is bound to be the instigator of many tales. Pale grey and soft blue cabinetry complement the warm tones of the timber and bricks, rounding off a picturesque and practical kitchen.
Albedor Industries were proud to sponsor the KBDi Designer Kitchen category awards this year, and Business Development Manager, Mal Stafford, was delighted to present Alexa with two of her three awards.
In recognition for her stellar efforts as a KBDi First Time Entrant, Alexa also took home a brand new iPad Pro! The judges commended her exceptional space-planning skills and applauded the designer’s confidence in presenting a transitional design style. We certainly look forward to seeing more from Alexa in the coming years!

A stunning black and white bathroom earned WA designer, Maggie Milligan (Town & Country Designs), the title of KBDi Bathroom Designer of the Year WA at KBDi’s recent Designer Awards Gala in Adelaide.
A claw foot bath was a ‘must-have’ for Maggie’s client, and a design challenge for this very limited space. The long, narrow bathroom needed an inventive solution to accommodate more than this bath, however; the clients also sought room for a stand alone shower and an existing French armoire!
The experienced Perth designer rose to the challenge, removing an existing window to create sufficient space for the client’s ambitious wish list. With the selection of exquisite tapware by Perrin & Rowe and Brodware, stunning lighting and a gorgeous Hampton floor tile, Maggie created a romantic ambience and a winning design.
As sponsors of the KBDi Bathroom Designer Award categories, E & S Trading, were proud to present Maggie with her trophy and the coveted chapter title of KBDi Bathroom Designer of the Year WA 2017.
