The battle for the title of the KBDi Australian Certified Designer of the Year was a tough one in 2018, with a number of worthy entrants vying for the coveted award and $2,500 prize.
It was Darren Genner CKD Au (Minosa) who got over the line, taking home the title of KBDi Australian Certified Designer of the Year 2018. He’s pictured here with Greg Grant (far right), Executive Director of KBDi, and Royston Wilson (far left), KBDi President, who were honoured to present this talented Sydney-based designer with his Award.
In winning this title, Darren also secured a KBDi first: in its ten-year history, the organisation has never seen one designer take out TWO of the top three national awards!
Huge congratulations to Darren on a marvellous and much-deserved feat.
What the panel had to say about Darren’s winning entry:
Two outstanding kitchen submissions, both with stunning design resolutions, exceptional plans and specifications and great confidence in application earned this designer the coveted title of KBDi Australian Certified Designer of the Year. The judges were awed by the standard of work submitted, and applauded the designer for his exceptional design talent and proficiency in the documentation.
Adelaide designer, Tania Kloester (TK Design) was a VERY close contender and was accordingly awarded a high commendation. Learn more about Tania’s superb entry here.
