Sweet shades of blushing pinks added something special to this year’s KBDi Designer Awards entries. In this feature, we share three ways in which Australia’s Finest designers incorporated this pretty pastel into their winning kitchens and bathrooms.

A delicate rose petal hue was beautifully applied in this small kitchen design by Nathan Wundersitz CKD Au (Space Craft Joinery, SA). Nestled amidst classic whites and the beautiful warmth of Blackwood timber, the pink hue of the featured cabinet is subtle and sweet. Nathan cleverly reintroduced the colour in the soft pink grout of the white-tiled splashback, with the overall scheme proving a perfect match for the romantic retro influence of the home’s original architecture.

Lime washed oak, Natural White cabinetry and white matt handmade tiles combined to create a lovely light and airy feel to this award-winning kitchen. Designer Darren Genner CKD Au (Minosa) finished the space with just the right amount of sweet lilac-hinted pink. The hue lifts the scheme and creates a striking focal point in this very refined space.

The styling of this stunning bathroom is an excellent example of how the prettiest of pinks can lift an otherwise neutral space. Designer Darren James CKD Au (Darren James Interiors) created a luxurious and timeless design with percaline marble tiles sitting seamlessly alongside large format charcoal tiles and walnut timber features.
