KBDi Design Space Winners 2023

Sep 27, 2023 | KBDi Awards

The KBDi Design Space category, proudly sponsored by Cabinet Makers Insurance Brokers in 2023, provided an opportunity for designers to submit work of any design space outside of residential kitchens or bathrooms.
With a vast range of entries submitted this year, the judges decided to declare category winners alongside the major prize winner. In this feature, we’re sharing the top four Design Spaces of 2023.

Winner | Design Space (Showrooms) and Overall Award

Francesca Demicoli | Francesca Demicoli Designs and

Stefan Vignogna CKD Au | Stefan Vignogna Joinery and Interiors

This spectacular submission well and truly wowed the judges. The successful design duo created a fabulous space for a much-loved industry brand. With well-considered space planning, beautiful material selections and a thoughtful lighting plan, the showroom is a visual delight.

Winner | Design Space (General)

Verona Searchfield | Avid Interior Design

The judging panel loved this designer’s solution to an oversized entry. The long and wide foyer had become a dumping ground of sorts. With clever space planning, the designer successfully converted the space into a welcoming new entry with a practical and pretty mudroom.

Winner | Design Space (Home Bars)

Hilary Ryan | Impala Kitchens & Bathrooms

The judges loved this designer’s resolution of an awkward and underused area in her client’s home. Some clever space planning resulted in a cool little wine cellar and drinks nook and a room that is sure to be well used for easy entertaining.

Winner | Design Space (Living Rooms)

Alysia Pekel CKD Au | Western Cabinets

A carefully designed low-line wall unit hugs this multi-function space, ticking all the boxes for the client’s wants and needs. The selected finishes – from the floors to the walls and the joinery – offer a refreshing change to the client’s former colour scheme.

Congratulations to all of the winners above, and huge thanks once again to the team at Cabinet Makers Insurance Brokers for their support of this award.
